Labyrinth Story 9: Falling into Place

 
 
Once the perimeter was square and level, things started falling into place.
 
Now it seemed like it was just a matter of getting the spiral paths at the appropriate distance and depth from the perimeter, and shoveling lots and lots of dirt.
 
Of course, things were almost always more complicated than they seemed with this project, and getting the paths to drop equally 8 inches every circuit and be 40 inches away from the previous circuit and the right depth from the perimeter led to lots of close approximations and re-shovelings.
 
It helped to have helpers…
