Labyrinth Story 1: The Map

 

Two summers ago an idea from deep out of the blue came into my head that a labyrinth needed to be built.  

There was an area on the property that I had planned to put a pond in, but over the years the moose had a habit of partying in the ponds and breaking the pond liner.

A reasonable alternative then was to build a labyrinth.

I considered building a Chartres style labyrinth, but for whatever reasons it had to be a spiral labyrinth.

The image above  was the first sketch, and the image below is what the area looked like two winters ago.
