Stephan Hoeller, Ph.D. on The Red Book

This is a video of Stephan Hoeller talking to the C.G. Jung Club of Orange County, California in 2009, when he was 78. The sound and the picture are a bit off, but listening to it works just as well. (In this age of Power Point, lectures are rather old fashioned and missing visual information.)

There is some worthwhile historical perspective in this, when he talks about the influence of Mesmer on Freud and consequently Jung. It was particularly Jung’s experience of a different reality, of an altered state similar to what can be obtained in hypnosis, that so profoundly affected his work.
