Paul Klee: Fish paintings

Everything vanishes around me, and works are born as if out of the void. Ripe, graphic fruits fall off.  My hand has become the obedient instrument of a remote will.

  1. Thankyou – loved the quote and the fish; the “remote will” is such a powerful expression.Your post also inspired me to start exploring him and his work.

  2. This is when another entity, the unconscious very much us but unknown to us, the other takes over. So Klee says color and I are one, i.e. I give in to the other allow it to assimilate me. Mind you a temporary with permanent change.
Eventually, the assimilation was complete and Klee’s psychosis began.
