Carl Jung: “We must bear in mind that we do not make projections, rather they happen to us.”

Carl Jung, on projections:  “What is farthest is actually nearest.”

We must bear in mind that we do not make projections, rather they happen to us.

This fact permits the conclusion that we originally read our first physical, and particularly psychological, insights into the stars.

In other words what is farthest is actually nearest.

Somehow, as the Gnostics surmised,  we have “collected” ourselves from out of the cosmos.

  1. I was puzzled and confused when the mechanism that creates the pattern of individuation processess began because every thing looked different, but when I tried to see what was different I couldn’t see anything that was
different. Eventually I realized the difference was in my mind and I didn’t name the changing agent until I’d had a few years of experiences .The first incident was really the first of a kind event: I was teaching a friend to sew because she was overweight and too tall because Big and Beautiful clothing was not available. She called me one day asking if I could repair her husbands shirts. I had become interested in this couple for reasons I didn’t know at that point. When she brought the shirts I was not surprised when I saw they were worn to gauze-like cloth and beyond repair. I had noticed her husband had worn these few shirts for years. I asked her why she didn’t buy new shirts . Her face and voice became a picture of anguish and grief as words framed her answer.
“We can’t find any thing that fits him.” Her husband was normal weight and could easily find clothing . I didn’t say anything and didn’t think about this incident for some time.
The next event was also confusing:
We were having dinner before the dance and my friend was making her usual commentaries to her husband about his negativeness. “Don’t frown so much. ” I had heard her say that so many times, ever since we met and became friends.
I looked at her husbands’ face and saw wrinkles on his face that were deep, in fact he looked like he was smiling when he wasn’t. Her face was also deeply wrinkled so she looked like she was frowning and grouchy always.
“She sees her frown on his face.” was a thought, a quiet thought made the comment in my mind. Why had I not noticed that in the past? Why now?
Other events happened that forced me to want an answer to my changed focus and the different effects .
When I was sewing one day , thinking about my own situation and the words from the television seemed to become louder so turned my attention to them. “The second world is here and in the second world all the rules are changed.”

A few days later I met the man who had bought our house a few years ago. He said something that made me feel very odd . “You have gone through re-birth, haven’t you? ” He looked very sad as he told me about how he had done something that had made his wife leave with their infant daughter. He was emaciated and looked worn out , looking so different than he had been. So was I.
    “You’ve gone through re-birth, haven’t you?”
It takes one to know one.
